After releasing the “teaser” of the Tucson’s impressive navigation light-integrated grille last week, Hyundai recently officially unveiled this model.
Hyundai Tucson has just been launched in the fourth generation of the car line. In this generation, the SUV owns the completely new Sensuous Sportiness design language of the Korean car company. This design language gives the car a muscular, sporty look with embossed veins at the front and especially on the sides, dividing the length of the car into a beautiful three-part layout. The car will be sold with seven paint color options including White Cream, Phantom Black, Shimmering Silver, Nocturne Gray, Amazon Gray, Flame Red and Intense Blue.
Coming to the details, the headlight cluster at the front of the car is beautifully integrated into the front grille. This Parametric Hidden Light design gives the car the grille part as completely black when the car is not in operation. The headlights are located below, surrounded by eye-catching aerodynamic details.
The angular design continues to be used on the sides, combined with the ribs that divide the layout. Front and rear wheel arches are embossed, wider, contributing to the tense look of the Tucson. The wheels possess a beautiful design and are finished in a two-tone style.
Coming to the rear of the car, we can easily see how this design language has improved the exterior of the car. The light cluster has a thin and pointed design, with a third set of brake lights connecting the two sides. The rear glass cover is hidden under the windscreen of the car while the “H” logo is mounted on the glass. The chassis features a new diffuser and sporty bumpers.
Inside, the cockpit of this model stands out with the vertical center console, which is connected to the contours around the interior, creating a feeling of sophistication and continuity. The center touch screen has a size of 10.25 inches, used to display infotainment systems. However, in the standard version, the screen here will only be 8 inches in size. All versions of the new Hyundai Tucson are equipped with technology to connect Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth connection at the same time two devices. A special application is also provided with the ability to lock, unlock, switch on, turn on the air conditioner via NFC connection and can operate at a radius of up to 30 meters.
The gear lever as well as the classic air conditioning buttons have been omitted and integrated into the center screen. This SUV also features emotional backlighting with 64 colors and 10 different brightness levels. Electronic dashboard will be 10.25 inches in size, similar to the center screen of the car. In the rear, the luggage compartment is expandable up to 1,095 liters.
Hyundai offers the model two engine options, the Smartstream 2.5-liter and the turbocharged Smartstream 1.6-liter, which can be powered by a hybrid and ply-in hybrid system. The 2.5-liter engine is capable of producing 190 hp of maximum power and the maximum torque of 247 Nm, power is transmitted to the wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The 1.6-liter supercharged Smartstream engine is powered by a hybrid drivetrain that can produce a maximum power of up to 230 hp with a maximum torque of 350 Nm. New Hyundai Tucson equipped with E-Handling technology to improve the agility of the car. The all-wheel drive system will be available on all versions, three new driving modes are Mud, Sand and Snow added in addition to the old modes like Eco, Comfort, Smart and Sport.
The new Hyundai Tucson will also come standard with the SmartSense Active Safety package. This package will include state-of-the-art technologies to help make the vehicle safer. Outstanding such as blind spot collision avoidance assistance, rear cross vehicle collision avoidance assist, intelligent cruise control with temporary engine shutoff function, front vehicle warning, track assist lane, intelligent speed limit warning, etc. A number of other assistive technologies are also available as options.
The all-new Hyundai Tucson goes on sale in South Korea later this month. Other markets around the world will start receiving vehicles in the first half of next year. Vehicles will be sold with two standard wheelbase and long wheelbase in addition to the high performance N Line.
