Mercedes SLR McLaren is the “common child” of two cult car brands, McLaren and Mercedes. At that time, Mercedes also owned 40% of the shares of the McLaren brand, so developing a joint project between the two companies was probably somewhat simpler than at present.
Mercedes SLR McLaren was officially produced and sold in 2003 and ended the line in 2010. During its 7-year life cycle, 2,157 cars were sold in two versions coupe and roadster. The car is inspired by the Mercedes 300 SLR racing car from the last century with the traditional silver color that has been associated with the Mercedes brand for a long time.
In September 2007, about four years after the coupe was launched, the roadster version of the SLR began to be sold on the market. The car is equipped with a hood with new materials and the roof can be opened / closed within 10 seconds. The car is equipped with a supercharged 5.4L V8 engine, producing 626 horsepower and 780 Nm of torque. Vehicles capable of accelerating 0-100 km / h in about 3.6 seconds and can reach a top speed of up to 334 km / h.
This is one of the most beautiful and unique Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren among the cars ever produced. The car is made to order separately from the factory. This model was built to be inspired by a Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing life 1955.
The car is equipped with a unique “Elfenbein” ivory paint color with a bold paint style, combined with the luxurious Bordeaux red hood. Compared to the majority of SLRs, the Mclaren Roadster, which usually carries paint colors such as silver, black, and white, is a striking color that makes it unique among legendary SLRs.
Called SLR (ie Sport Light Racing), this model is researched and decided by experts to equip a carbon fiber reinforced plastic structure aimed at reducing the weight of the vehicle to improve efficiency in operation. Thanks to the use of this material, the weight of the car lies at 1,791kg.
From the base version, Mercedes and Mclaren have developed more upgrades over the life cycle of this car, such as the Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster, the “722 Edition” series. More specifically, before the SLR’s death, the brand released a unique Speedster version with only 75 built, “Stirling Moss”. After the SLR’s death, McLaren also brought a program to upgrade 25 SLR McLaren through McLaren Special Operations (MSO) for customers in need.
