According to McLaren, the company’s new AAMS – Active Air Management System (active airflow control system) will help create a bubble field around the empty cockpit of Elva and prevent outside air from blowing in. the passenger side when the vehicle is operating. This will help passengers enjoy the car in a more comprehensive way.

To be able to do this seemingly impossible, McLaren designed a system of air ducts placed inside the nose of the car. This system has the shape of a 120-degree folding hook, after the airflow from the front of the vehicle, it will be directed outward right above the front of the vehicle and upwards. After exiting the pipeline, the outside airflow will be obstructed by the airflow from the AAMS and pushed up high, creating an invisible hood for this model.

That is when the car is running slower than 112 km / h (70 mph), when it is going faster than this speed, the air flow in the “hook” will partly create pressure to slow the car. To overcome this, McLaren has equipped a retaining wall in the front. This retaining wall will begin to activate when the vehicle passes a speed of 112 km / h, its mission will also be to push the air flow high and across the body, out of the cockpit of the Elva. At higher speeds, however, comfort won’t be the same as at speeds below 120 km / h. The system also includes door panels inside the wind tunnel that are used to completely close the system from within the cockpit.

Along with the new aerodynamic technology brought to Elva, McLaren also used laser cutting technology for the first time to complete the rear grille. McLaren designed the Elva with four exhaust pipes, two at the back that will work when in normal mode, delivering a quiet sound. The remaining two exhaust pipes are placed towards the sky, behind the steering wheel to bring more impressive sound when the car is operating at high speed.

To give Elva impressive performance, McLaren uses a familiar twin-turbocharged V8 engine, 4.0-liter tishc capacity, but upgraded to own a maximum capacity of 804 horsepower and maximum torque. 800 Nm. Power will still be transmitted to the rear wheels via a 7-speed SSG dual-clutch gearbox, so the car can accelerate to 100 km / h in less than 3 seconds.

In this model of the Ultimate product line, McLaren will only produce a limited number of 399 units, with a starting price of 1.69 million dollars. The first Elva will reach customers by the end of this year, customers who buy cars will be asked by McLaren to specially personalize their cars.
