McLaren celebrates 25 years of victory at Le Mans with the special edition of the 720S

On June 18, 1995, McLaren won for the first time at the legendary Le Mans 24h long-distance race at the first time, along with three other F1 GTRs that finished in the top 5. That victory marked McLaren’s first successes on the track with its first commercial cars, the McLaren F1. To commemorate the 25th anniversary of that victory, McLaren released the 720S 25 anniversary Le Mans special edition.

This special version of the McLaren 720S will be limited to only 50 units worldwide and the European market will only have 16 units. McLaren and MSO personalization department will bring to this version some special details to pay tribute to the McLaren F1 GTR that brought the glory to McLaren and more especially the 59 F1 GTR controlled by JJ Lehto, Yannick Dalmas and Masanori Sekiya won. The McLaren 720S of the 25 anniversary Le Mans version will all have a VIN starting with 298, representing the number of laps that the F1 GTR performed at the 1995 race.

McLaren will sell this special version of the 720S with two exterior paint colors: McLaren Orange (orange) and Sarthe Gray (gray). The contrast of the exterior will be created by glossy black details, along with a dark gray paint strip called “Ueno Gray”. This color scheme is inspired by the 1995 McLaren F1 GTR won at Le Mans.
