Officially launched in August 2018, the Bugatti Divo is a variant of the Chiron line. The car possesses a aggressive appearance with many aerodynamic details in gray-blue paint, giving the Divo a unique beauty. Up to now, the first Divo is being prepared to be delivered to customers.
According to the company’s introduction, Divo is considered the most unique and spectacular super sports car in modern times. This is a model developed with a striking appearance with angular lines and completely different handling performance. In order to have a perfect car, the brand spent up to 2 years with extremely rigorous development stages to perfect a perfect supercar.
Talking about Chiron, Stephan Winkelmann, Bugatti Chairman proudly said: “With Divo, Bugatti is reviving a tradition long forgotten. The ultra-high-performance and super limited sports car has its own character and is an absolute must-have for any Bugatti’s collection of super sports cars. With the new Divo design and its completely differentiated handling performance, we have succeeded in creating a true masterpiece of automotive craftsmanship, completely reviving the tradition of manufacturing sessions. our longtime specials “.
The car’s original design was completed in a few months and presented to Chiron owners. Bugatti Chairman Stephan Winkelmann said they immediately understood Divo’s sporty appearance and supported the project. After receiving a lot of positive feedback, engineers started running a computer simulation and creating a concept.
The concept was in operation for almost a year after the project started, and it was taken to various test locations including the Nürburgring. As part of the chassis development, a prototype was tested over distances of up to 5,000 km and was once tested at speeds up to 380 km / h. Engineers have also tweaked the Divo’s suspension and chassis to the perfect perfection possible.
To cut the weight of 35kg compared to the Chiron, Bugatti’s engineering team installed lighter wheels and new carbon fiber intake air cooler cover. Divo also comes with a lighter sound system, less insulation and less storage space. Working in collaboration between the design team as well as the engineers, Divo possesses a unique appearance and modified aerodynamics, generating approximately 90kg of additional pressure.
It can be seen that the efforts of Bugatti engineers to help the car have a better cornering ability is partly demonstrated with the car’s appearance. The front, Bugatti’s signature grille is retained, however, the design is somewhat stronger and more angular. The front diffuser and the front spoiler are made larger. Bugatti also optimizes the wind drag coefficient when designing a more comfortable front end. LED headlights, extending above the wheel arches.
Vehicles still use W16 engine for a capacity of 1,500 horsepower, 8.0 liter capacity. The car’s acceleration time hasn’t been announced yet but will certainly be faster than the Chiron’s 2.5 seconds. Top speed is limited to 380 km / h instead of the limit car like the Chiron.
Bugatti Divo will be produced in limited quantities only 40 units. The price to pay to own this car is 5.4 million dollars.
