It can be said that the Chiron is a line of cars with the most known Bugatti brand. These models have been developed from the famous Chiron in recent years such as Divo, La Voiture Noire, Centodieci and most recently the car has just been launched by this brand – Chiron Pur Sport.
By improving aerodynamic efficiency and reducing mass for this hypercar, engineers have improved handling and making the Chiron more enjoyable when cornering.
The car is still equipped with an 8.0-liter W16 engine, capable of producing a capacity of up to 1,479 horsepower. However, the rev limit has moved 200 rpm more than on the regular Chiron, reaching 6,900 rpm. This change was made by the engine mated to a recalibrated automatic transmission.
In addition, the gearbox is also changed with details such as the gear ratio closer to 15% which have a positive effect on the power supply and response of the engine. The result is a 40% better elasticity value than a basic Chiron.
The chassis also gets significant upgrades, including 65% stiffer front springs, 33% stiffer rear springs, and performance-focused adaptive dampers. The Chiron Pur Sport rides on wheels with a weight of just 16 kg and is designed for improved braking aerodynamics and ventilation. The wheels are equipped with special Bugatti Sport Cup 2 R tires developed by Michelin, measuring 285/30 R20 at the front and 355/25 R21 at the back.
In the brake division, Bugatti opted for new titanium brake pads and lighter discs, along with lighter alloys, making the Chiron Pur Sport about 19kg lighter than the regular Chiron.
The Chiron Pur Sport has also revised some exterior details such as the aerodynamically optimized front wheel section with a larger aperture, a larger horseshoe-shaped grille and a new splitter – All are made from carbon fiber.
The rear bumper also has new changes such as a 1.9m wide spoiler installed to increase the pressure for the car when operating at high speeds. The car is equipped with titanium exhaust pipes and 3D printed very light and resistant to high temperatures.
Bugatti will launch and sell only 16 Chiron Pur Sport units and will begin production by the end of 2020 and each will cost € 3.2 million excluding taxes.
