Brabham’s BT62 is one of the fastest and most powerful racing “toys” at the moment. If it doesn’t feel like the standard version of the BT62 is impressive enough, the Australian racing automaker has also added another, faster and lighter version called the BT62 Competition.
The first model of the Competition version of Brabham BT62 has recently been delivered to its owner in the UK. The vehicle has a green exterior with copper-colored wheels. Inside, the interior compartment is made entirely of carbon fiber, along with operability control devices such as switches, knobs, anti-roll frames and multi-point seat belts, protective nets.
Like the standard BT62, the Competition version is still powered by a naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V8 that produces 700 hp and 667 Nm of torque, power is transmitted. to the rear wheels via a 6-speed sequential transmission manufactured by Holinger. With a structure made of ultra-light materials, this super car weighs only 972 kg, but the Competition version is even lighter with some details such as the extra seats, super light alloy wheels, carbon steering wheel, … This version does not come with standard parts, they will be optional.
Despite some cuts to reduce the weight of the car, the BT62 Competition will still have an inner frame and body made of carbon fiber to ensure the safety of the racer when using it. Brabham has designed the BT62 with a bit of design to serve the aerodynamics, so the BT62 can generate up to 1,300 kg of pressure at a speed of 300 km / h and can bend corners with horizontal force up to 3.5 G.
