After nearly a year of launch, the first Bentley Pikes Peak Continental GT out of a total of 15 units finished production and entered the testing phase before being delivered to the owner.
The Pikes Peak Continental GT is a special edition based on the Continental GT that set the record at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. With Rhys Millen behind the wheel, that Continental hit 10 minutes 18,488 seconds, 8.4 seconds faster than the old record racer David Donner set with the 911 Turbo S.
It is also Millen’s second record with Bentley in this race, the first record is with the Bentley Bentayga in the fastest SUV segment. Pikes Peak Hillclimb Challenge is the world’s toughest mountain pass, timed race with a distance of more than 20 km and 156 curves. However, that’s not what makes this race so tough, it’s about the weather and the difference in elevation between the start line and the finish line up to nearly 2,000 meters (starting at 2,835 meters and ends at 4,298 meters).
On the outside, the car will own carbon fiber-covered details, combined with the Blackline Specification upgrade package, turning chrome details into glossy black, giving the car a more aggressive and aggressive look. The car’s paint color is available through Mulliner personalization, dubbed Radium. This is a special blue color, modeled on the colors of two Bentley cars that participated in this famous hill climb race. Combined with this paint color are details such as the rear trunk, the hood is painted in contrast black. The front bumper is decorated with a prominent white “100” logo on the glossy black grille, along with the solid “Pikes Peak” logo behind the wheels.
The car uses a set of 22-inch glossy black five-spoke wheels with Pirelli P Zero Color Edition tires with green-painted wheel edges. Hidden behind this set of wheels is a high-performance brake system with prominent green brake shackles.
Although it is a special version oriented to the sporty style, the interior of the Bentley Continental GT “Pikes Peak” is still no less luxurious. The entire interior is finished in black leather (Beluga) with contrasting blue (Radium) stitching used in the seats, steering wheel, and foot lining. The dashboard of the car is covered with carbon fiber, combined with aluminum in the center console as well as the air-conditioning doors of the car. On the side side, Bentley added a map of the Pikes Peak race track with the Continental GT’s own 10 minutes 18,488 seconds time. Finally, the seats are embroidered with the blue Pikes Peak logo on the headrests, the B&O speaker system of the car has a mesh finished in two colors blue – black.
Although it is a special version, the car will retain the same engine and power as on the standard Bentley Continental GT. The car is equipped with a twin-turbocharged W12 engine, with a capacity of 6.0 liters. This engine produces a maximum capacity of 626 hp and maximum torque of 900 Nm, transmitting power to the rear wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission. With this power, the Continental GT W12 will be able to accelerate to 100 km / h in 3.6 seconds before reaching a top speed of 333 km / h.
