Audi launches two Q8 versions using hybrid drivetrain

Audi continues the electrification of its cars when the German automaker recently released a plug-in hybrid version of the Q8 sports SUV. The brand with the four-ring logo will sell two Q8 sessions using the hybrid drivetrain of 55 TFSI E Quattro and 60 TFSI E Quattro.

Both versions are equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that can produce 340 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. The car’s hybrid drivetrain will include an electric motor integrated into the car’s 8-speed gearbox, with braking energy recovery technology. Powering this electric motor is a battery pack with a capacity of 17.8 kWh.

The Q8 55 TFSI E Quattro version will have a total output of 381 hp and 600 Nm of torque with acceleration to 100 km / h in 5.8 seconds. Meanwhile, the 60 TFSI E Quattro will have a capacity of 462 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, helping the car accelerate to 100 km / h in just 5.4 seconds. Both have top speeds of 240 km / h.

In all-electric operating mode, the Audi Q8 60 TFSI E Quattro version will be able to travel 56 km in accordance with NEDC standard and 45 km with WLTP standard. The version 55 will travel 59 km and 47 km in NEDC and WLTP mode respectively. The car’s battery can be fully charged in 2 and a half hours with a maximum capacity of 7.4 kW.

To optimize the electric energy in the car, Audi equipped this model with regenerative braking technology with the ability to generate up to 25 kW for momentum and 80 kW of energy when braking over 0.3 g. This energy can be stored for later use or can also be used directly to save fuel when accelerating.

The electrified version of the Audi Q8 still gets seven drive modes including comfort, efficiency, auto, dynamic, individual, off-road and on-road. Each mode will control the response of the throttle, suspension, and steering to provide a unique experience. Adaptive suspension will be standard in the premium version of this model.

The Audi Q8 TFSI E Quattro will begin taking orders from now with prices starting at 75,351 Euros for the 55 and 92,800 Euros for the 60 version. Black paint details will also be standard on the car. Some other equipment on the car includes Matrix LED lights, 21-inch wheels with 285/45 tires, red brake shackles. Inside, the cockpit will be upholstered in black or gray leather, the S logo embroidered on the seat backs, steel pedals and a number of milling aluminum trim details.
