Lexus has just introduced the LF-Z Electrified Concept electric vehicle. The Japanese automaker says it combines strong performance, impressive styling and advanced technology that will be set up in 2025.
The Lexus LF-Z Electrified Concept was developed on a battery-electric vehicle-specific platform using its DIRECT4 four-wheel drive control technology. Making the most of the electric motor’s outstanding real-time torque, DIRECT4 steers the wheels faster, and it controls the distribution of power on the wheels and can works in front, rear and all-wheel drive configurations.
Lexus has yet to provide details on the important hardware of the car, except for the Steer-by-wire electronic steering system.
The Lexus LF-Z Electrified Concep is an evolutionary preview of the design language of Lexus. With a shape reminiscent of coupe-crossovers, the front of the concept still uses the brand’s signature grille. However, since this is a completely electric vehicle and does not have an internal combustion engine in the front, the grille is closed.
Around the sides of the car, you can see that the front and rear overhangs of the car are made quite short, while the large wheels create a solid look for the car. The tail section of the LF-Z Electrified Concept looks quite attractive with an intricately designed LED array and a third vertically arranged brake light on the fancy rear bumper.
Lexus says it has designed the car’s interior following the concept of “Tazuna”, which means “mound” in Japanese. Inspired by the relationship between the horse and the rider, the interior of the car is arranged quite strangely with the modern U-shaped steering wheel integrating many buttons and the complicated HUD screen.
In addition to the launch of the LF-Z Electrified Concept, Lexus has announced plans to introduce 20 new or upgraded models by 2025. More than 10 of them will be electrified, including electric, plug-in vehicles. traditional hybrids and hybrids, depending on the needs of specific countries and regions in the world.
